H.E.A.T

Harberton Energy Action Team

Welcome to the Harberton Energy Action Team (H.E.A.T.) website.

H.E.A.T. is a voluntary group of Harberton villagers who are interested in energy issues. Domestic energy costs have risen dramatically in recent years, together with an increasing awareness of the environmental issues associated with energy production and usage.

As a village we probably collectively pay around £250,000 each year for our energy and pump hundreds of thousands of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Yes, just this small Devon village!

Thus, the motivation behind H.E.A.T. is to do the following:

  • Understand all aspects of present energy costs
  • Know what options there are for change
  • Learn from each other's experiences in this area
  • Take advantage of group purchasing power
  • Deliver energy solutions to the community

H.E.A.T. meetings are held every 2nd Thursday in the Family Room at the Church House Inn. All villagers are welcome and encouraged to come along.
